Purple Ribbon for World IBD Day

May 19, 2025

On May 19, millions come together to recognize World IBD Day, a time to raise awareness and support for those living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) — including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

At Fzata, we are proud to stand with the IBD community. Behind every statistic is a personal journey marked by resilience, pain, hope, and a daily fight for a better quality of life. Today, and every day, we are committed to turning scientific innovation into meaningful relief.

A New Approach to a Familiar Challenge

Current treatments like Humira® (adalimumab) have changed the game in IBD care — but they come with burdens. Injectable biologics can be painful, expensive, inconvenient, and risk of serious infections, especially for long-term use.

That’s why Fzata is developing FZ006, an oral biologic therapy designed to provide the same powerful anti-TNF injectable benefits — in a pill.

FZ006 represents the next step in how we deliver biologics:

• No needles

• No refrigeration

• No clinic visits

• Just powerful, targeted treatment in a pill

We believe this innovation can help remove barriers to adherence, improve outcomes, and give patients more control over their health and their lives.

Why It Matters

Living with IBD often means navigating unpredictable flares, fatigue, dietary restrictions, and emotional strain. The physical symptoms are only part of the story. For many, managing IBD is a full-time job — one that affects relationships, work, and overall well-being.

By making biologics more accessible, more convenient, less invasive and safer, FZ006 has the potential to lighten that burden.

Patient Advocates

“It would be indescribably transformative to have a pill like FZ006 that could treat my Crohn's disease and provide a high quality of life. I can only imagine how much of a dream it would be to live a healthy life fighting my IBD without the fears of life-threatening pneumonia, which I almost died of because of a compromised immune system. I am so excited that Fzata is working to make my dream a reality.”

"As someone who gets infusions to help treat IBD (Crohn's Disease) every eight weeks—probably for the rest of my life—every dose takes careful planning around tour dates, studio time, flights, and clinic access. It’s not just treatment, it’s logistics. What Fzata is working on could change the game, not just for me, but for anyone living a busy lifestyle, and even for people who simply prefer the convenience of quick, on-the-go treatments. The idea of taking a pill instead of scheduling your life around an infusion? Now THAT rocks. I’m genuinely excited to officially partner with Fzata and support this kind of innovation any way I can.”

Our Commitment

On this World IBD Day, Fzata reaffirms our commitment to the IBD community:

• To listen to patients, clinicians, and caregivers to better understand their needs.

• To innovate boldly, with science that respects the complexity of IBD.

• To advocate for better options and access for all.

Together, we can change the future of IBD care — from injections to innovation, from management to empowerment.
